Let's Talk Design

There are a lot of considerations the quiltmaker needs to look at when deciding the design for their quilt. Usually this is done after the top is completed and she can stand back away from her work and look at ways to enhance it. During this time she needs to consider the following.

What kind of a look do I want the finished piece to have? Is the quilt more contemporary needing geometric designs? Is the quilt more traditional calling for more of an antique look? Or how about maybe doing a whimsical style pattern for a teenager or child. Is this quilt going to be shown in a contest or maybe a fine family heirloom someday?

Let's not overlook the batting... Do I want a fluffy feel, a flat feel or something in between? Is this going to be a wall hanging only to be washed occasionally, or is this going to be used on a bed being laundered frequently?

So many aspects to think about when going to the next step in quilting the quilt. All of the above points need to be considered. The better you communicate with us, the better satisfied you will be as our customer. On the order form you will notice quite a few questions. By you answering these questions we will be able to help figure out the desired pattern, custom design and batting that will best enhance your quilt top.
